It's I LOVE Italian food. Pasta is definitely one of my weaknesses. I hate the jarred Alfredo sauce, so I would only eat Alfredo when we'd go out for Italian. Then I learned how to make it myself!
Ingredients:
For the Sauce-
1 stick of unsalted butter
1.5 teaspoons minced garlic
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups shredded Parmesan (I buy pre-shredded)
Pasta of your choosing (I like penne, but only had spaghetti for the picture.)
Meat of your choosing (chicken, salmon filet, shrimp, even beef medallions.)
Veggie of your choice (I like asparagus or broccoli).
Directions:
1) Melt butter and saute garlic.
2) Whisk in heavy cream. Stir frequently, heating thoroughly.
3) Gradually add shredded parm. Stir frequently to prevent sticking and to keep smooth.
4) Serve over pasta and veggies, top with meat. Enjoy!
*For a low-carb option, omit the pasta but do not use veggie substitute (zoodles and similar veggie "pastas" water down the sauce and make it gross).
